The weather report from the night before already had me scared. Heavy storms had been predicted and last year we lost electricity for a full three days. After that incident I bought two new portable generators for sale to make sure that if it ever happened again we would be ready. Problem was, I couldn’t recall where I had stored them and the storm was already here.

I have got to discover the portable generator. Everyone head to the basement, I’ll be right there, as soon as I locate it and get it working. Ok sweety, please be quick. (kisses for everyone) Jogging towards the garage I could see the hurricane coming this way. Off in the sky line, brown and purple, weird reds and greens spinning together. It was just after four in the afternoon and it was plainly pitch black over there.

I scurried through the stuff that was scattered everywhere, complaining under my breath about how I should maintain a cleaner storage. All I could think was, please protect my kids. Ah there it is,the portable generator. Now where is the fuel can, I know it’s full, I just filled it last week, and I haven’t used it since then. Oh wait the thing should be full. Yes it is.

Fantastic! okay, now yank the cord, and plug this power bar into it and we should be done. This electric start portable generator is nice, I am so glad I finally got this thing. (It roars to life) Ok, plug this in. Whala! Ok, where is the big house plug? There it is. Plug it in. Nice! Alright then, back to the family!

OK so we have all the correct coordinates plotted to produce a great hover over effect, so now we need to have a nice map design for the map in question. This is also a tedious job for a webmaster to create and trace county borders…that’s why I have created layered photoshop images with all the state borders traced with the pen tool 1 pixel in black on a white background.

There you have it a ready made kit for making amazing clickable maps for your website or blog, usually at 600 pixels width perfect for most web pages. My aim is to use the minimum varieties of seeds to get the longest possible growing season from any type of vegetable. This year I’m going to try two types of Cauliflower. Cauliflower Snowball A and Cauliflower All The Year Round. This should give me fresh cauliflowers from late June to early November, may be later if I grow some in my Hydroponic systems.

Gardeners grow cauliflowers for their central white heads (curds) and depending on your location could be grown all year round. Growing Cauliflowers in Square Foot Gardens can take up quite a bit of space and a fairly long time to mature (20-26 weeks) so they may be not be a useful crop for those with smaller gardens

To increase the yield of my garden, I’m going to sow my cauliflowers in “root trainers“. This approach will enable me to leave them longer before planting out and occupying valuable garden space.

Cauliflower seeds should be sown at a depth of 1/2 cm in individual seedling pots / trays. After germination the seedlings should be placed in a well-lit spot at around 60 deg F. The seedlings should be ready for transplanting about 6 weeks after sowing. Remember to harden of for a week before planting out. You should plant one seedling per square.

Cauliflowers are a cool weather crop, so during hot spells cover the head with the newspaper.
